States and Power in Africa - I first realized I wanted to be a political scientist while reading this book for the second time. My message to Derrick:
My brother, indeed if a human being can be split up into a dichotomy of intellect vs spirit then I guess you have both in spades.
What I found especially refreshing is you are actually the first human being of any race who actually spoke about ANY of the policies of the candidates and how it would apply day to day?
Though my honest belief is that we as human beings are moved heart and soul first and intellect later, the fact that you were able to add so much intellectual richness to the debate definitely inspires me to probe deeper when I am given the opportunity to participate in politics and analyze what effect each political candidate will have upon the future of the nation (obviously I am not just talking about America right now, but any participation in politics).
And you're right....with the proliferation of social media and the Internet, we have more opportunity than ever to take back the mic and take control of our media and our minds.
My rambling, meandering way of sending thanks for the inspiration
